ECONOMIC IMPACT

We are not a self-serving organization, but a non-profit economic engine used to drive visitors to our community. While visitors are in town having a great time at a sporting event, convention, conference, or getaway, their expenditures are helping sustain businesses like hotels, restaurants, attractions, festivals, concerts, events (and the local Columbia citizens who work there!). Tourism provides a variety of jobs (from part time and entry level to general managers and directors) for residents in Richland County, Lexington County and the City of Columbia.
