Experience Columbia SC Sports is excited to welcome the American Cornhole Organization back to Columbia for the ACO Columbia Major Sept. 10 and 11 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. 

 

In July 2020, the ACO Worlds was the first big event held at the CMCC since reopening following the initial shutdown from the COVID-19 pandemic. Sports was one of the first industries to snap back and the championship exhibited the facility’s capability to safely host events and set the standard for the more than 150 events that have since conducted business in the building. 

 

“We are thrilled to have American Cornhole return to Columbia for the third year in a row,” said ECSC Sports Executive Director Scott Powers. “We also want to welcome all of the competition back to Columbia and hope everyone has a great time in town this weekend!”

 

Part of ACO’s 17th season, the Columbia Major boasts two days of cornhole play and features men, women and junior players all competing for a cash purse totaling more than $5k. Spectators are welcome to attend, as well, and admission is free. Concessions are available for purchase.

The Columbia Major will be in compliance with the new mask mandates and the convention center, which earned its GBAC accreditation earlier this summer, is adhering to all safety and sanitation protocols.
