Columbia has officially been named the Coolest Up-and-Coming City in the country in Hemispheres Magazine’s inaugural Reader’s Choice Awards. Hemispheres is the in-flight magazine for United Airlines and the results were publicly released today in the Sept. issue.
Columbia accrued the most votes in the category, winning the acclaimed title over Asheville, NC, Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY and Boise, ID.
The team at Experience Columbia SC first heard about the awards in May and worked together to nominate the region in as many relevant categories as possible. By mid-June, we received word that our nominations had landed us in the Coolest Up-and-Coming City category. From there, we shared the voting link on our social media channels, encouraging our followers to get their votes in.

We’ve been saying for a couple years now that Columbia is experiencing such exciting momentum and this accolade certainly helps bolster that claim.”
